"DPR" leader Zakharchenko announced fake elections on Oct. 18

The leader of "DPR" terrorists Aleksandr Zakharchenko has signed a decree on the so-called "local elections" on Oct. 18, 2015.

This is announced by one of the "DPR" militants' media outlets, Censor.NET reports.

"Today I signed a decree on local elections which will be held on Oct. 18, 2015," Zakharchenko said, while noting that these fake elections "will mark the end of "DPR" state formation process."

As reported, the conduct of fake elections by terrorists contradicts the Minsk agreements.

Earlier, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that militants' fake elections in the Donbas are a "red line" and its crossing will be followed by new EU sanctions. According to him, Russia does not need the elections in the Donbas as such. Their only objective is to legitimize the illegal occupation authorities.

In his turn, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksandr Turchynov said that terrorists require fake elections in the so-called "DPR" and "LPR" to deadlock the situation and deny possibility to return the occupied Donbas to Ukraine peacefully. Oleksandr Turchynov also noted that Ukraine would recognize fake elections in the so-called "DPR" / "LPR" by no means.

As previously reported, Ukraine's local elections will be held on Oct. 25.
