"The initial skills of a police officer are very high. We hope that the patrol policemen will be able to pursue a career in the entire police system. That is why we set the age of the applicants between 21 and 35 years. In addition, the system of tests allows us to select the best of them. Thus, we have received more than 6,000 applications for 200 policemen in Ivano-Frankivsk, which is about 30 applicants per one position. On one hand this is a rigorous recruitment and selection process, on the other, it is a guarantee of quality," Arsen Avakov said.

The Minister noted that the current level of skills of the police was high enough. At the same time, 25 out of 2,000 patrol policemen have already retired from the police in Kyiv which operates since July 24.

"You have to realize that it looks quite prestigious: brand new uniforms, cars, but in fact it is a hard daily work," the Minister of Internal Affairs said.
