 Normandy Four foreign ministers: Agreement on arms withdrawal could be signed next week

The newly arranged cease-fire, which has been holding since the 1st of Sept., gives a positive momentum and more incentive to now try and overcome the Donbas crisis.

Germany's Foreign Minister, Frank-Walter Steinmeier said after the meeting of Normandy Four foreign ministers in Berlin, Censor.NET reports citing DW.

He stressed that "significant progress" had been made towards resolving the Ukrainian crisis, noting that the discussions had become less confrontational.

"Now it is all about holding and extending the ceasefire", he said.

According to Steinmeier, the participants of the meeting agreed to begin the process of demining as soon as possible.

Foreign Ministers of Germany, France, Russia and Ukraine expressed hope that the parties to the conflict will sign a specific agreement on the withdrawal of weapons from the line of contact next week.
