 Commander of Slobozhanshchyna battalion owned same grenades as those that exploded near Verkhovna Rada

Commander of Slobozhanshchyna battalion, arrested on suspicion of assassination attempt on Interior Minister of Ukraine Arsen Avakov, had the same grenades as the one which exploded near Verkhovna Rada on Aug. 31. The grenades were seized during a search.

Chief Military Prosecutor Anatolii Matios wrote on Facebook, Censor.NET reports.

"We searched the building and seized the evidence. There were machetes, night vision devices, explosives, and RGO grenades among the confiscated weapons. The same grenades as the one which exploded near the Verkhovna Rada," he wrote.

Matios also reminded that the preliminary investigation of the planned crime lasted for four months.

On Sept. 11, the SBU together with the Chief Military Prosecutor's Office detained the commander of the Slobozhanshchyna battalion, preventing an assassination attempt on Interior Minister of Ukraine Arsen Avakov and a series of other assassinations in Kyiv and Kharkiv
