 Collapsed crane hit Mecca's Grand Mosque killing dozens and injuring over 100 worshipers. VIDEO

Mecca's and world's largest mosque al-Haram has been hit by a collapsed construction crane. 87 worshipers are reported dead, as many as 184 people have been injured.

As reported by Censor.NET citing Ukrainska Pravda and a local newspaper Saudi Gazette, according to preliminary data, the crane fell because of the strong wind and rain.

All neighborhood hospitals are at the highest level of readiness. Authorities have blocked all roads to the Grand Mosque so that they could be solely used by medical transport.

The Grand Mosque - the main and the world's largest mosque that surrounds Islam's holiest place, the Kaaba. Saudi authorities are about to start hosting worshipers from around the world for the annual Hajj pilgrimage.
