"The law clearly says that our fighters must scramble within 15 minutes to intercept the plane that has violated our airspace to determine its location, visualize and order its crew to land at the specified airport. If the crew refuses to do it, other actions will be taken, which I prefer not to mention," Nenchev said.

According to Nenchev, the Foreign Ministry of Bulgaria has information that the Russian planes carry not humanitarian aid but arms. He added that Bulgaria does not pursue aggressive policy against certain states but operates within the legal framework and priorities as a country striving for further integration into the EU and NATO.
