Fake elections in self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk "people's republics" will cause strengthening of sectoral sanctions, - Presidential Administration

Ukraine's Presidential Administration forecasts strengthening of EU and U.S. sanctions against Russia if terrorist organizations "DPR" and "LPR" hold elections on territories temporarily controlled by them.

This was announced by Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Kostiantyn Yelisieiev in his interview to Ukrainski Novyny, Censor.NET reports.

"Another key thesis of the president [voiced] during his contacts with European and U.S. leaders is that holding of fake "elections" by the so-called "leaders" of the so-called "LPR" and "DPR" will automatically provoke introduction of strengthened sectoral sanctions and extension of personal sanctions against relevant persons, citizens of the Russian Federation," Yelisieiev informed.
