Ukraine's Oshchadbank to demand more than $1 billion from Russia for lost assets

PJSC "Oshchadbank" intends to demand more than $1 billion from the Russian Federation as compensation for the lost assets in the annexed Crimea.

This was announced today by bank's chairman Andrii Pyshnyi at a press conference in Kyiv, Censor.NET reports citing RBK-Ukraine.

"I think this amount will exceed $1 billion," Pyshnyi said.

According to him, preparation of legal arbitration will take 2-4 years, because it is a complicated and time-consuming procedure. "This is an unprecedented process," the chairman stated.

He also added that bank's lawyers are actively engaged in the preparation of the claim.
