"During the attack, Hryniuk suffered heavy injuries (closed craniocerebral injury, a fracture of the nasal septum, facial hematomas, dissection of soft facial tissues). Currently, Hryniuk stays at emergency aid hospital and undergoes examination," the statement reads.

The attack is said to be linked to his professional activities.

"It should be noted that aggression against transport inspectorates' employees has become kind of a trend. As previously reported, three facts of illegal actions have been recorded from July: physical violence and property damage. All cases witness of systematic aggression and illegal actions against employees of the State Inspectorate of Ukraine for Maritime and Inland Water Transport Safety and the Ukrainian State Inspectorate for Ground Transport Safety, which carry out activities under Ukrainian legislation, contributing to systemic dealing with challenges, as well as preventing corruption in the relevant authorities," the press-service stressed.
