Right Sector and Avtomaidan leaders detained in Odesa: court decides on their remand in custody, Odesa region police head says

In Odesa, law enforcement officers detained leader of the local Right Sector office Serhii Sternenko, his fellow party member from the Komintern district of Odesa Ruslan Demchuk and head of the Odesa Avtomaidan Yevhen Rezvushkin.

Odesa region police head Giorgi Lortkipanidze wrote on Facebook, Censor.NET informs.

"I would like to draw the attention of the public to today's events: the leader of Odesa Avtomaidan was summoned by the police investigator to be served a notice of suspicion of committing a crime as part of the criminal case. He is charged with hooliganism and threats or violence against a police officer. The court is currently deciding whether to remand him in custody or not," he wrote.

"In addition, the Odesa Right Sector office leader and head of the Right Sector in Komintern district of Odesa have been detained by sanction of the Prymorskyi court to be served a notice of suspicion of assault on the MP and his abduction. The court will decide the measure of restraint for these people," Lortkipanidze wrote.

"Dear residents of Odessa, I am calling on you to adhere to the law and observe public order. The law is the same for all citizens of Ukraine, without exception!" the head of local police urged.
