President Petro Poroshenko said during extended government meeting on Tuesday, Censor.NET correspondent reports.
"Part of the political elite has decided that external threats are already outdated and it's high time to stir up internal conflict," he said.
Poroshenko has not named these forces, but connected them to the tragic events outside the Verkhovna Rada on Aug. 31.
"These politicians are ready to throw grenades and set the whole country on fire to obtain extra seats in local councils," he said.
The president stressed that he considered the events of Aug. 31 a planned terrorist attack.
"The details of the events of Aug. 31 will be known in the near future, which, I expect, will be made public by the investigating authorities. You will be horrified when terrorists' plans are voiced," said Poroshenko.
