An internal investigation to clarify the circumstances of disappearance of three Ukrainian soldiers at the border with the occupied Crimea is underway, with the Security Service of Ukraine having been involved.

This was announced by SBU head's adviser Yurii Tandit on air of 5 Channel, Censor.NET reports citing Interfax-Ukraine.

"We are actively involved, getting the information, acting within the law. Their military unit is now a subject of an internal investigation into the disappearance," he said.

As reported, Tandit did not specify any details, promising to update information as soon as details become known.

As previously informed by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine press service, in the morning of Sept. 5 three soldiers of the 79th Separate Airmobile Brigade were reported missing. According to the General Staff, it was established that at night two vehicles (UAZ and Ural trucks) came to the area from the occupied Crimea, with possible unlawful detention of Ukrainian servicemen taking place shortly after. At the same time, weapons, ammunition and IDs of the abducted remained at the military unit.
