The head of state emphasized that Russia's aggression and other challenges in both external and internal security environment stipulate for necessity of establishing a new system of national security, Censor.NET reports citing the presidential website.
According to the president, the intelligence plays an important role in the new National Security Strategy of Ukraine and the Military Doctrine of Ukraine.
"Under the difficult conditions of overt aggression, we need efficient and active intelligence capable of providing prompt, adequate, and accurate information for the state authorities to take important decisions in terms of national security," the president noted.
The head of state said that the priorities of military intelligence for the near future include expansion of capabilities of clandestine intelligence, as well as of radioelectronic, air, and space reconnaissance, and establishment of cooperation with secret services of NATO and EU member states.
"We must be prepared for any scenario both near our borders and in the international domain. I am confident that you will further fulfill these important and responsible tasks at a higher professional level," the head of state said.
The president noted that despite economic difficulties, the government further safeguards observing social and legal guarantees of servicemen and their families, including intelligence officers.
In particular, the 2015 state budget provides for a six time increase in financing of housing rent and construction for Defense Ministry's servicemen.
The president assured that the state will further take every effort to create the most favorable conditions for servicemen and intelligence officers.
