The group's leader, born in the Sakhalin region (Russian Federation), together with accomplices, residents of Kyiv and the Kyiv region, planned attacks in Ukraine's capital.
Law enforcers seized items that could be potentially used in terrorist attacks in Kyiv, thus preventing a real threat to life and health of Kyivans.
During an attempted terrorist attack, malefactors turned off their cell phones and used portable radio sets, as well as fake plate numbers on their car. They also had tactical backpacks with camouflage outfit, roll mats, and provision if in hiding.
As already established, after the attack, the group's leader had to immediately leave for the temporarily occupied Crimea.
A criminal proceeding has been opened under Part 2 of Article 258 (act of terrorism) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
