 Ukraine’s Armed forces to be fully compatible with NATO troops by 2020 according to new doctrine, Poroshenko says

The Armed Forces of Ukraine must meet NATO standards by the year 2020.

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said opening the meeting of the National Security and Defense Counsel of Ukraine today, Sept. 2, Censor.NET reports citing 112.ua.

"A common thread running through this strategic document (Military Doctrine - Ed.) is the issue of Euro-Atlantic integration, the necessity to bring all our military and defense system in line with NATO standards, achieve the criteria required for membership. It is the task by 2020 - to ensure full interoperability of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the relevant forces of NATO member states," Poroshenko said.
