The situation took place near Lobachove village located between Slovianoserbsk and Shchastia. The mines were planted on the route of the group and the assault was also supported by an invaders' sniper. A volunteer and an employee of the State Fiscal Service were killed as a result, four soldiers were wounded. Reinforcements of the ATO troops have promptly arrived at the engagement area. The enemy retreated beyond the Siverskyi Donets River after the attack had been repulsed."
The ATO press center stated: "In addition, the mercenaries employed small arms against our positions in the village of Krymske at 10:35 a.m. and in Shchastia at around 2 p.m. The enemy committed a strike on the Ukrainian strongholds in Novotoshkivske with a 120-mm mortar at 12:05 p.m.
"The gangs attacked the ATO troops' positions south of Avdiivka near Donetsk with small arms and grenade launchers.
"This day (Sept. 2) has once again showed that the enemy was near, and it was dangerous and backstabbing. The mercenaries keep making attempts to invite our troops' retaliation. At the same time, the ATO forces strictly adhere to peace agreements, realizing that a new escalation will only bring grief to the long-suffering land of the Ukrainian Donbas," the press center summed up.
