Preliminary decision is expected to be made at a meeting of senior EU officials on Aug. 2 to be further approved by ministers in mid-September, Censor.NET reports citing Radio Liberty.
Sanctions already in force include freezing of assets and ban to entry the EU, involving 151 individuals. One person from the list died. The restrictions do not apply to president Vladimir Putin and majority of Russia's top-rank government officials.
The list also includes 37 companies. Among them - 13 captured by the Kremlin during the occupation of Crimea or those having benefited from this illegal act.
