 President Poroshenko and EU Commission President Juncker meet in Brussels

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko arrived to Brussels on a working trip Aug. 27, where he will meet the leadership of the European Union.

As reported by Censor.NET, this was announced by Interfax-Ukraine.

In the morning Thursday, Poroshenko was meeting with President of EU Commission Jean-Claude Juncker, after which he has a meeting planned with President of the European Council Donald Tusk and Belgium's PM Charles Michel.

Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Kostiantyn Yelisieiev announced earlier that this visit of the Ukrainian president to Brussels was regarded as a beginning of an international campaign to strengthen the pro-Ukrainian international coalition.

"With this visit to Brussels we are launching dynamic international foreign policy activities of the president, aimed at consolidation of the pro-Ukrainian coalition, in order to make the Russian party fulfill the Minsk obligations," Yelisieiev said.

He said that President Poroshenko will reiterate the accents, agreed upon with German Chancellor Merkel and French President Francois Hollande, at the meetings with the EU leadership. According to Yelisieiev, the meetings in Belgium will be followed by active contacts with other members of the process of the Donbas conflict settlement.
