According to the headquarters, the greatest hostile activity was recorded near Mariupol: "The militants used 120-mm mortars to assault our positions in Starohnativka, Novoselivka Druha, and twice in Chermalyk at night. The mercenaries attacked the ATO forces deployed in Prokhorivka from the direction of Starolaspa using 152-mm artillery at 6 p.m. Besides, our detachments in the villages of Orlivske, Lebedynske, and Starohnativka were impacted by 152-mm artillery after 10 p.m. The invaders have also shelled the Ukrainian troops' positions in Bohdanivka with Grads at 9:05 p.m.
"Another attack on the ATO forces with the use of BM-21 Grad multiple rocket launchers indicates the presence of missile artillery in proximity to the line of contact, which violates the Minsk agreements and demonstrates the criminals' lack of principles," the statement reads.
It is also noted that the situation near Donetsk was tense yesterday: "The militants used 120-mm mortars several times, infantry fighting vehicles guns, and large-caliber machine guns to attack the ATO forces in Marinka. Our detachments in this village were shelled by the enemy with 152-mm guns at 9:30 p.m."
The invaders fired at Troitske village from a tank at the Artemivsk direction at 7:30 p.m. as well as attacked the Ukrainian forces' position in the village of Zaitseve with 120-mm mortars and infantry fighting vehicles' guns at around 9 p.m.
"The illegal armed groups violated the cease-fire 90 times totally yesterday. The mercenaries employed artillery 14 times, mortars - 31 times, tanks - five times, and once used multiple rocket launcher," the press center reported adding that the militants kept committing artillery strikes on the villages of Starohnativka and Bohdanivka near Mariupol from midnight to 6 a.m. today, Aug. 27.
