 Situation in Donbas stable. Militants fired 122-mm artillery near Donetsk, - ATO press center

Today, Aug. 26, from midnight to 6 p.m., the situation in the ATO area remained stable.

This is reported by Censor.NET citing the ATO press center.

The report reads: "Russian-terrorist gangs, in attempt to engage our forces into a more active confrontation, continued attacks at our positions using mainly small arms. Also, during the past day, several cases of using weapons over 100-mm were recorded. In the vicinity of Donetsk, around midnight, the Ukrainian positions in Opytne were sprayed from 122-mm artillery, tank and 120-mm mortars. At almost 2 p.m., persisting in scorched earth strategy, occupants fired 120-mm mortars at civilian homes in Krasnohorivka."

"In the Artemivsk direction, around midnight, our positions in Zaitseve got under 152-mm artillery fire. At 01:10 and 02:25 p.m., terrorists fired 122-mm artillery and 120-mm mortars respectively at our troops positions in Luhanske," the press center stresses.

"At the same time, according to our intelligence, militants repeatedly go through financial contradictions, dissatisfaction with leadership actions growing, leading to abuse in alcohol and mass desertions. Namely, a few days ago, militants of the 12th territorial defense battalion of the so-called "DPR" voluntarily left their positions near Debaltseve and returned home. Deceived by Russian propaganda, the men refused to sacrifice the lives in the name of vague ideals and other people's money," the report reads.
