Today, Aug. 25, the situation in the ATO area has deteriorated to certain extent. Active armed provocations by militants were recorded almost along the entire demarcation line from midnight to 7 a.m.

This is reported by Censor.NET citing ATO press center.

The report reads: "Near Mariupol, at 00:30 a.m., mercenaries fired 122-mm artillery from the direction of Kominternove at our strong hold in Lebedynske village. At the same time, militants fired 122-mm artillery at the Ukrainian defense lines in Sopyne. As a result, two Ukrainian marines were killed, three were wounded. At around 6 a.m., terrorists used 120-mm mortars to shell our positions in Hranitne."

"In the Donetsk direction almost at midnight, militants fired 122-mm artillery at the Ukrainian forces positions in Vodiane. At around 1 a.m., our positions in Pisky were shelled from mortars, grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms. From 4:10 to 4:40 a.m., illegal armed units fired 152-mm artillery at our positions in Krasnohorivka. At around 8 a.m., the same village was hit with 120-mm mortars and an anti-aircraft gun," the press center stresses.

"In the Artemivsk direction, militants fired 120-mm mortars at the ATO forces positions in the villages of Popasna and Stepove. At around 5 a.m., pro-Russian terrorists fired 152-mm artillery from the Vuhlehirsk direction at our positions in Luhanske village.

"During daylight hours, militants abated fire, using mainly small arms in the Donetsk direction," the report reads.
