 Militants shelled Hranitne and Sopyne in the morning, no information of casualties yet, - sector M press officer

The night at the Mariupol direction was not calm: the militants attacked the positions of the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) troops thrice.

Sector M press officer Yaroslav Chepurnyi told on air of 112 Ukraine TV channel, Censor.NET informs.

"The night was not calm: the militants shelled the positions of our troops thrice or rather twice at night, and once in the morning. The first two attacks took place at 12:30 a.m. The militants used 122-mm and 152-mm caliber SP guns near Talakivka and Sopyne," he said.

The militants opened fire on the ATO forces' positions in the vicinity of Hranitne in the morning.

The militants used small arms twice and IFW gun one time over the past day as well.

"Several shells impacted the village of Sopyne with a lot of residents. A few people have left this village (since the conflict in the Donbas started - Ed.). It was very little attacked during the deterioration of the situation in May and June, when Shyrokyne and Berdianske were heavily shelled," he said adding that the information on casualties and destruction was being specified at the moment.
