"A number of shocking publications on the Ukrainian armed forces plans for the offensive in the near future has recently appeared on the Internet. Besides the demonstrated fake maps and plans this thesis has as well been expressed by another spokesperson of the self-proclaimed "DPR" Eduard Basurin," the statement reads.
According to Eduard Basurin, Ukraine is allegedly ready to violate the Minsk agreements and try to resolve the situation in the Donbas by force. At the same time, a number of terrorist acts against the civilian population in the occupied territory will be carried out in addition to offensive operations, the militants' speaker says.
"Such "panic" in the ranks of militants has become traditional during the preparation of active hostilities by the terrorists and is aimed to create opinion on the activities of the military and political leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the information space," the Defense Ministry said.
Moreover, the statements of Eduard Basurin and forged documents should "untie the hands" of the Russian troops on the territory of Ukraine in order to protect "helpless" militants and Russian-speaking residents of the Donbas, force Ukraine to sit down at the negotiating table with the leaders of the bandits as a fully legitimate entities under international law.
