"A decrease in armed provocations by illegal armed units has been recorded over the past few days. The enemy has substantially reduced the number of attacks on Ukrainian military positions with weapons over 100-mm, using predominantly small arms. At the same time, militants continue being the most active in the Donetsk direction," the statement reads.
According to HQ, from 6 p.m. until midnight the enemy delivered almost non stop fire at the Ukrainian troops positions in the villages of Marinka, Opytne, and Pisky, using grenade launchers, small arms, heavy machine guns.
At around 7 p.m. mercenaries fired 82-mm mortars twice at the ATO forces in Krasnohorivka.
At around 9 p.m. and about midnight occupants committed a BMP attack on the Ukrainian strong holds in Opytne. In the Luhansk region, at around 8 p.m. terrorists fired grenade launchers and anti-aircraft guns at the Ukrainian soldiers in the village of Shchastia.
Near Mariupol, at 6:05 p.m. terrorists shelled Starohnativka from 82-mm mortars.
"In general, during the past day, militants violated cease-fire 67 times, using artillery two times, mortars - 15 times, rocket artillery - one time, grenade launchers and small arms - 65 times."
After midnight, Aug. 20, militants went on delivering fire near Donetsk.
