 2.3 million families received subsidies, while 45,000 applicants were denied, - Social Policy Ministry

2.3 million Ukrainian families have already received subsidies. 45,000 applicants have been denied.

Deputy Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine Vitalii Mushchynin said during phone-in with the Cabinet, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrinform.

"Alltogether, we have included 2.3 million families in the program of housing subsidies by this time. The applications of about 400,000 families more are being currently processed by the Department of social protection of citizens," Mushchynin said.

According to the deputy minister, the average of about 50,000 new applications of citizens for subsidies is received in a week. Thus, at least 4.5 million families should be included to the program of housing subsidies until the beginning of the heating season.

In addition, according to the deputy minister, Prime Minister Arsenii Yatseniuk instructed to create special mobile offices in each region, which special mobile teams would come in the villages at a scheduled time and help prepare documents for receiving subsidies.

Mushchynin also stressed there were five times more subsidy requests this year compared to the last one. In particular, 450,000 families had received subsidies in August 2014,and 2.7 million ones got them this year.
