As reported by Censor.NET citing ZN.UA, this was announced by Savchenko's lawyer Ilya Novikov.
"Rostov regional court's hearing to change the venue of trial against Nadiia Savchenko is scheduled for 10 a.m. Aug. 21, 2015," the lawyer said.
Earlier, the Russian prosecutor's office decided to send the case to Donetsk in the Rostov region, Russia. The defense appealed against the decision.
"Most participants to the future process - victims, defense, witnesses - live in Moscow, Voronezh and other cities, but not in Donetsk. We believe they may face unfounded risk should the case be heard in Donetsk," the lawyer stated.
Nadiia Savchenko, according to her defense and the Ukrainian side, was kidnapped in the war zone in the Luhansk region in early July 2014 and taken to Russia, where she is accused of murder of two Russian journalists in the Donbas.
The defense has recently come up with a new proof of her alibi regarding a video interrogation by militants. Another argument of the defense was telephone billing data, according to which Savchenko had been already in captivity at the time of shelling.
