 Terrorists shelled Avdiivka and Opytne with Grad rocket systems

Yesterday, the militants continued to fire at the ATO forces’ positions, having slightly reduced the use of rocket artillery.

Traditionally, the terrorists were the most active in the Donetsk region since 6 p.m. till 12 a.m. During this period, the militants shelled the villages of Pisky, Vodiane, Opytne, Krasnohorivka, Novomykhailivka, Novhorodske and Marinka town with 120mm mortars. Moreover, the town of Avdiivka and the villages of Troitske and Pervomaiske were shelled with 122-mm mortars after 9 p.m. The militants fired at Avdiivka town and Opytne village from Grad rocket systems around 10 p.m.

In the Artemivsk sector, the Russian militants have been shelling the Army's positions at Zaitseve, Kodema and Vesela Dolyna villages with 152-mm guns since 10 p.m. The village of Zolote was also shelled with 120mm mortars twice.

In the ​​Mariupol sector, the villages of Talakivka and Starohnativka were fired from 122-mm mortars after 10 p.m. In addition, the terrorists have also shelled the ATO forces' positions at Starohnativka village from BM-21 Grad rocket system at 10:30 p.m. A little bit earlier, at 9 p.m., the militants also fired at Chermalyk residential area with mortars.

In Luhansk region, the militants have been firing at Stanytsia Luhanska village from mortars and grenade launchers over the last 24 hours.

Overall, the terrorists violated the cease-fire for about 136 times on Aug. 15. The terrorists fired from heavy artillery (13 times), mortars (61 times), Grad rocket systems (4 times), small arms and grenade launchers (65 times). The terrorists continued attacking the Army positions in the Donetsk sector on Aug.16.
