 Poroshenko enacted July’s decision of NSDC to neutralize security threats

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko signed a decree on implementation of the classified decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine of July 20 "On urgent measures to neutralize threats to national security".

The relevant decree signed Aug. 13 comes into effect from the date of publication, Censor.NET reports citing Interfax-Ukraine.

The text of the decree reads: "To enact the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of July 20, 2015 "On urgent measures to neutralize threats to national security" (the classified document is attached). To impose the task to control fulfillment of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine decision enacted by the decree on the secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine."

When opening the NSDC meeting on July 20, Poroshenko stated: "We must take urgent measures to counter and neutralize threats to national security in the conditions of escalation of external interference on the part of the aggressor, on the part of Russia, into the internal affairs of Ukraine, the implementation of its scenarios aimed at destabilizing sociopolitical situation using criminal, ethno-national and socio-economic factors."

According to Poroshenko, the fact of the armed conflict in Mukacheve district of the Zakarpattia region calls for staff changes and strengthening of the state administrations, local bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, State Border Guard Service, State Fiscal Service and the Security Service.
