 Prosecutor General Shokin reassigns responsibilities of PGO top officials

Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin has issued an order to reassign the responsibilities among the leaders of the Prosecutor General's Office.

As reported by Censor.NET citing the PGO website, from now on the Deputy Prosecutor General Vitalii Kasko will be in charge of all matters regarding prevention and combating of corruption, investigation of crimes committed by officials occupying high state positions.

The Deputy Prosecutor General Davit Sakvarelidze will continue the prosecutor's office reform and investigation into criminal proceedings against prosecutors. Public prosecution and representation of interests of a citizen or the state in courts will be taken over by the Deputy Prosecutor General Oleh Zalysko. Shokin retains overall administration within the authority, organizational legal support, personnel management, internal security and work with media.
