 Citizen of Ukraine taken hostage in Afghanistan

A citizen of Ukraine working for a construction company has been taken hostage in Afghanistan.

As reported by Censor.NET, this is announced by 112 Ukraine TV channel.

Video messages of the citizen of Ukraine Bilyi have been published on the Internet the other day. The video is dated Aug. 2. The capture has been confirmed by the Ukrainian embassy.

Until journalists addressed the Ukrainian Embassy in Tajikistan, which also covers Afghanistan, the diplomats new nothing of the incident.

"Mr. Bilyi has worked in Kabul for the past 10 years for Budservis company, his job being quite official. We received such information from his relatives," the Ukrainian Ambassador to Afghanistan and Tajikistan Viktor Nikitiuk said to the TV channel.

The Ukrainian's personal data has been provided to the Afghanistan law enforcement bodies, which are to take care of his liberation. Neither kidnapping organization, nor its demands are known so far.
