 Court of Appeal upheld 1.2 million UAH bail for ex-minister Lavrynovych

The Court of Appeal of Kyiv declared legal and upheld the remand on bail at 1.2 million UAH (about $56,440) for former Minister of Justice Oleksandr Lavrynovych.

This was stated by the chairing judge Oleh Prysiazhniuk, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrainski Novyny.

The court ruled to dismiss the appeal.

The court's panel dismissed the appeals by the Prosecutor General's Office and Lavrynovych's defense and upheld the decision to remand the ex-minister on bail at 1.2 million UAH.

The PGO pled to arrest the suspect and increase the bail to 8.5 million UAH (about $399,760), and the lawyers asked to lift the bail.

As reported, the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv refused to arrest the former Justice Minister Lavrynovych assigning a bail of 1.2 million UAH.
