 Terrorist Girkin hits wanted list

The Security Service of Ukraine has announced former militants' leader, Russian Igor "Strelkov" Girkin wanted.

This is stated in SBU's reply to an information request of the NGO "Centre UA", Censor.NET reports citing Ukrainska Pravda.

"Be informed that under a criminal proceeding No. 22014000000000286, Russian citizen Igor V. Girkin is suspected of committing crimes under Part 1, Article 258-3 (establishment of a terrorist group or a terrorist organization), Part 1, Article 294 (mass disorders), Part 3, Article 258 (act of terrorism), Article 341 (seizure of state or public buildings or facilities), Article 348 (attempt on the life of a law enforcement officer, a member of people's guard, a border guard or a serviceman), Article 349 (taking an official or a law enforcement officer as a hostage) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine," the statement reads.

"The suspect Igor V. Girkin is wanted with an SBU investigative unit being in charge of the search," the message reads.

As reported earlier, June 3, 2015, the former Head of the SBU Main Investigation Department Vasyl Vovk expressed hopes Interpol would put Girkin on wanted list.
