 Ukrainian troops returned to positions near Novolaspa, - General Staff

Pro-Russian terrorists can not oust Ukrainian troops from their positions by manpower and equipment.

This was announced by the General Staff press center head Vladyslav Selezniov on air of 5 Channel, Censor.NET reports.

"Our troops near Novolaspa have rolled back to their original positions. Status quo is restored. We have delivered a powerful counter-strike, the toll of both sides being clarified at the moment. But it's obvious the blow was smashing, with terrorist manpower and equipment being unable to oust our troops from their positions," he said.

According to him, there were facts evidencing of terrorist hatching a powerful provocation: "Yes, in reality the events were preceded by a number of facts proving militants had been preparing for such provocations."

As reported before, the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko instructed to inform representatives of the OSCE mission and, through the Joint Centre for Control and Co-ordination, the representatives of the Russian Federation about violation of the Minsk agreements by pro-Russian militants near Starohnativka.
