 US to allocate additional $500 million for Ukraine, - Parliamentary committee on foreign affairs

The Verkhovna Rada Committee on Foreign Affairs announced of the U.S. intention to provide an additional $500 million including for training of the Ukrainian military on the Yavoriv range (the Lviv region).

This is stated in the press service of the Committee with reference to a letter by U.S. Vice President Joseph Biden to Verkhovna Rada Committee Chairman, Samopomich faction deputy Hanna Hopko, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrainski Novyny.

According to the letter, Ukraine will receive an additional $500 million of aid from the U.S. government. These funds will be spent including for training programs for the National Guard and the Armed Forces of Ukraine soldiers on the Yavoriv ground.

"The United States has committed $2 billion in loan guarantees to Ukraine and over $500 in assistance, which includes training programs in Yavoriv for Ukraine's National Guard and the Armed Forces," Biden wrote in his letter

Joe Biden stressed in his letter that the U.S. would keep its sanctions against Russia until the agreements reached in Minsk (Belarus) on Feb. 12 were fully observed.
