 Several districts of Kyiv left without water due to sewage collector repair; people stand in kilometers-long lines for water as heat persists

Repair works at the Main sewage collector have been prolonged, leaving residential areas of Obolonsky, Podilsky, and Shevchenkivsky districts of Kyiv without water supply until 10 a.m. of Aug. 8.

Censor.NET reports citing social media posts and Kyivvodokanal announcement. The reason repair works are taking more than usual is that they are conducted in landslide-prone location, so access to the area is restricted. The works can be carried out only under condition of reduced volume of wastewater and load on the sewerage system, the message reads.

In particular, the following areas of Ukraine's capital city remain without water supply:

Obolonsky district - Minsky, Obolon, Priorka, Kurenivka (partially), Rybalsky island;

Podilsky district - Shevchenko village, Vitriani Hory, Mostytskyi, Kurenivka (partially), Vynohradar;

Shevchenkivsky district - Nyvky, Dehtiar, Syrets, Voleikiv.
