The dialogue partners discussed implementation of the Minsk agreements and Ukraine's efforts to stop aggression by the Russian Federation, including those in political sphere.
Poroshenko thanked the U.S. representatives for ongoing support of Ukraine by the U.S. and noted the importance of subsequent steps to de-escalate the situation and implement measurements of security, humanitarian and political solutions, as agreed by the parties.
The president also emphasized the important role of the U.S. Congress in support of Ukraine's independence and sovereignty, provision of aid to the Ukrainian state, enhancing its defensive capacity, implementation of reforms and stabilization of the economy. Poroshenko said he hoped such support will last further.
The parties discussed closer cooperation between the U.S. and Ukraine in the matters of cyber security, military and military technical spheres, and in support of reforms in Ukraine, especially in the energy sector. Special attention was paid to attraction and protection of U.S. investments in Ukraine and participation of U.S. companies in privatization of Ukrainian enterprises.
Poroshenko said the authorities were actively implementing further deoligarchization and corruption fighting, including through involvement of U.S. anti-money laundering experts.
