This was announced by the B sector press officer Yevhen Sylkin on air of 112 Ukraine TV channel, Censor.NET reports.
"During the last evening and night, terrorists committed more than 40 attacks on Ukrainian military and civilians in the Donetsk direction. From 7 p.m. our positions near Marinka in the direction of Oleksandrivka fell under harassing fire of enemy snipers. At 8:30 p.m. militants struck with automatic tank grenade launchers. In half an hour, 120-mm enemy mortars joined in the destruction of civilian homes, with the shelling lasting for almost an hour.
"Using 120-mm mortars and automatic tank grenade launchers during the evening and night, militants were repeatedly spraying Pisky, Opytne and Vodiane. From 8:20 p.m., in the direction of Spartak the enemy carried out two attacks on Avdiivka. After midnight, Vodiane and Opytne were densely shelled from tanks. From 4 a.m., the enemy was spraying Krasnohorivka and Pisky for over three hours. Currently, the situation in the Donetsk direction is calm," he said.
According to Sylkin, local residents informed of explosions in the terrorist-controlled Horlivka, though Ukrainian soldiers returned no fire.
"Most likely, this is a provocative shelling of their own positions by militants to ignite people against Ukrainian authorities and troops," Sylkin resumed.
