As a result, at 8:50 p.m. the power block No. 13 of the Luhansk Thermal Power Plant halted. The northern part of the region remained without electricity, but at midnight it was restarted and power was restored.
A local bus station and an office of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine were hit from automatic grenade launchers. Two soldiers of the 92nd Separate Mechanized Brigade were wounded. Also, a former food base building in the area of the power plant caught fire.
The traditional "hot spot" of the Lugansk region Stanytsia Luhanska has seen calm for two days already, with the exception of single shots from small arms by militants. On this occasion, the village is under reconstruction.
"After another shelling of the Luhansk TPP a question of the regional energy security was raised. We have repeatedly raised it at previous meetings. The region needs another power line, which will help us protect ourselves and provide surplus electricity to other areas," the Head of the Lugansk military-civilian administration Heorhii Tuka said.
