"The time will come, when even the Donbas will become Ukrainian, in a way the nationally oriented Ukrainian authorities want it. It's more difficult in case with Crimea, almost impossible," Lukashenko said in an interview to Euroradio, Radio Liberty and TUT.BY in Minsk on Tuesday.

According to Lukashenko, "everyone in Russia is fed up with the conflict in Ukraine, especially the leaders." However, he said he did not believe "the Ukrainian leadership aspires for peace to be there tomorrow."

"Ukraine has to be smarter and close the border. No one will forget it (the conflict in the Donbas - ed.), but everything will calm down in some time. 30 million people were killed in World War II and now we are friends with Germans. Of course, a lot of time is needed, but we must make these steps," the Belarusian leader stated.
