 Ukraine’s Justice Minister expects "hundreds of thousands" of lawsuits filed to European Court against Russia: "Russia will pay every Ukrainian for damages"

Justice Minister Pavlo Petrenko expects citizens of Ukraine to file hundreds of thousands of charges against the Russian authorities to the European Court of Human Rights.

He said this during a roundtable regarding the rights of citizens in Crimea, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrainski Novyny.

"We will struggle for every our citizen. There will be hundreds of thousands of lawsuits filed against the Russian authorities. Russia will pay every Ukrainian for inflicted damages and lost housing," he said.

According to him, there will also be charges filed against Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"The Ukrainians have already started to contact free legal aid centers. Some of the suits have already been filed to the Court. There will be a great wave of lawsuits filed against the Russian Federation," the minister said.

He is convinced that Crimea will be returned to Ukraine much faster than it is expected.
