NSDC Secretary Turchynov: Russia deliberately torpedoes all peace agreements

The trend of stepping up provocations of the armed forces in the occupied territories of the Luhansk and Donetsk regions has been recorded recently.

This is stated by the National Security and Defense Council Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov, Censor.NET reports.

According to him, over the past day Russian-terrorist units committed 109 attacks at the Ukrainian forces positions, killing three soldiers and injuring seven.

"They deliver heavy artillery and mortar fire mainly from residential areas of the occupied cities," the secretary said, adding that Russia once again takes to the "tactics of using civilians as live shields to cover up their war crimes," tried in Crimea and the Donbas.

Turchynov notes that all this is happening when "politicians of leading democracies are on their vacation and therefore can not actively respond to Russia's provocations, including by strengthening sanctions."

Russia's explicit ongoing provocative behavior completely frustrates all attempts of peaceful settlement and de facto evidences of Moscow's torpedoing the Minsk agreements. "Daily military provocations and crimes in the east of our country indicate the public debate by Russia on removing tanks and weapons of less than 100-mm is no more than enemy's intention to create favorable conditions for an assault of the Russian-terrorist units," the secretary stressed.

According to Oleksandr Turchynov, the Ukrainian army command is analyzing possible offensive directions, working out corresponding countermeasures.
