PGO urges Spanish law enforcement authorities to extradite ex-Finance Minister Kolobov to Ukraine

The Prosecutor General's Office appealed to the law enforcement authorities in Spain to extradite Ukraine’s former Finance Minister Yurii Kolobov suspected of the abuse of power to Ukraine.

A source in the Prosecutor General's Office reported to Ukrainski Novyny, Censor.NET informs.

"We have submitted the documents," the source said. According to the source, the decision is yet to be taken.

It should be reminded that the Spanish police arrested Kolobov in March. The former minister was in Valencia when he was detained. He was arrested on an international warrant issued by the Interpol.

The former Finance Minister as well as a number of former government officials is suspected of illegal funding of construction of the telecommunications network from the state budget, which inflicted losses in the amount of 220 million hryvnia (about $29 million at that time) to the State.
