 Militants fire heavy weapons at Pisky, Marinka and Pervomaiske with civilian homes destroyed, - B sector press officer

During the day militants carried out 42 shellings in B sector with a few civilian homes having been destroyed. The intensity of attacks by militants remains high.

This was announced by the B sector press officer Yevhen Sylkin on air of 112 Ukraine TV channel, Censor.NET reports.

"The intensity of attacks by militants remains high. For the last day, the illegal armed units fired 42 times at the Ukrainian troops positions and civilian infrastructure. Militants used tanks, 122-mm and 152-mm howitzers, as well as 120-mm mortars to fire for effect more than 15 times. The hottest shelling was recorded in the Donetsk airport area with heavy fire from 120-mm mortars being delivered at Pisky, Opytne and Butovka mine. The fire was mostly opened from enemy positions near old and new airport terminals. Enemy tanks fired six full sets of rounds at Pisky, Vodiane, Opytne and Pervomaiske. Shelling of Pervomaiske occurred from 3 a.m. to 4 a.m. with heavy destruction of civilian homes witnessing of its aftermath," he said.

According to Sylkin, in the morning militants sprayed Marinka from 120-mm mortars, antitank guided missiles and heavy machine guns.

No casualties have been reported in the ranks of Ukrainian military. As for civilian casualties, the information is being clarified. Last shelling in B sector was recorded at 5 a.m.
