"The ultimate goal of sanctions is the withdrawal of Russian troops," the representative of the president of Ukraine on the Crimean Tatar issues Mustafa Dzhemilev said to the participants of the II World Congress of Crimean Tatars, Censor.NET reports citing Krym.org.
"Our main goal is salvation of the illegally annexed peninsula and its return to Ukraine. On our opinion, sanctions against Russia are one of the methods of this struggle. The ultimate goal of sanctions is the withdrawal of Russian troops. I am sure that if more sanctions are introduced, we will return to our homeland. But to achieve this goal we need to engage the world community to the process. Without international support all our efforts will be futile," Dzhemilev said.

He also said that the Crimean Tatars are forced, in different ways, to deportation. "All that illegal authorities are doing is intended to ensure that the Crimean Tatars will not stay in the Crimea... Representatives of the occupation authorities did not neglect any means: arrests, searches in schools, prosecution, and deprivation of Tatar's business. The Crimean Tatars are being forced to leave their homeland. After the annexation of the Crimea there were more than 150 searches in Tatars' houses registered. We are dealing with provocative activities of the occupation authorities. One of the major tasks of the World Congress of the Crimean Tatars is to develop methods to fight against this situation," Dzhemilev said.
After the speech, Dzhemilev received a great ovation.
