The IMF decided on another tranche for Ukraine amounting to $1.7 billion.

As reported by Censor.NET citing LB, this is announced on fund's official Twitter. As previously announced by the Ukraine's Finance Minister Natalie Jaresko, $1.7 billion will be used to replenish gold and foreign currency reserves of the National Bank. Earlier, the IMF approved the first review of the Extended Fund Facility 4-year program agreed upon in March. This year the fund is to give Ukraine two another tranches of $1.7 billion each.

Disagreement of private creditors to restructure loans was an obstacle for Ukraine to receive the second tranche. It was long time believed that without an agreement with creditors IMF would not allocate money. However, in early June, the fund said such an agreement was no longer a prerequisite. The first IMF tranche in the amount of $5 billion was received by Ukraine in March. The total of the EFF program is $17.5 billion.
