 Two senior fiscal officials caught on 100,000 bribe, - Security Service

The SBU detained two officials of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine in the Donetsk region when receiving a bribe of 100,000 hryvnias (about $4,630).

As reported by Censor.NET citing Interfax, this was announced by the SBU press center on Friday, July 31.

"The Security Service of Ukraine and the Chief Military Prosecutor's Office carried out a multi-step operation resulting in detainment of the Head of the Customs Audit Department and a state inspector of the Main Department of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine in the Donetsk region," the statement reads.

The ministry informs the criminals asked for 100,000 hryvnias from the head of one of the Kramatorsk firms for reducing the size of penalties imposed during an audit.

At the moment, investigation initiated within a criminal proceeding is underway.
