"Russian authorities put political pressure on Congress delegates - residents of Crimea - creating an atmosphere of lawlessness and repression and trying to prevent them from leaving the peninsula to attend the event. We consider such actions of the occupation authorities deliberate violation of human rights and international norms and neglect of universal values," the statement reads. The ministry also emphasized that the absence of representatives of the Crimean Tatar activists from Crimea will be another evidence of "illegal actions of the Russian side, its terror against dissidents."

We call on strict observance of human rights in the occupied Crimean peninsula, in particular, removal of barriers hindering participation of representatives of the Crimean Tatar people in the II World Congress of Crimean Tatars," the statement reads.
