"The Russian-terrorist forces execute "demilitarization of the buffer zone in the Donbas" actively using heavy weapons including 120-mm mortars, 122-mm and 152-mm cannon artillery, armored vehicles. The enemy keeps conducting active reconnaissance activities and makes efforts to unleash subversive and terrorist warfare (land mine warfare) in the rear of the ATO forces.
"The active hostilities were recorded in the vicinity of the town of Shchastia July 26. In particular, the terrorists' task force (company-size) including three 82-mm mortar detachments committed attempt to storm the ATO forces positions. The group of militants retreated to the jump-off line after the return fire opened by the Ukrainian troops but the terrorists resumed the attack soon with the support of three tanks. All attempts to assault had been repulsed by the ATO forces.
"The use of tanks by the militants was also recorded in the area north-west of Dokuchaievsk at the direction between Yasne and Berezove villages (south of Donetsk).
"The situation at the section of the front near Marinka, Krasnohorivka, and Lozove has deteriorated. The terrorists have committed a number of attacks and provocations there over the last two days. The militants several times used the 122-mm and 152-mm artillery to shell positions on the Ukrainian troops in the area between Krasnohorivka and Lozove villages.
"The enemy infantry squads kept committing attacks on the forefront of the ATO forces in the area between Vodiane and Opytne villages firing at them from the automatic small arms, RPG-7 and SPG-9 grenade launchers under cover of the dense foliage.
"The activity of the terrorists' infantry units conducting attacks from small arms as well as sudden strikes from 82-mm and 120-mm mortars were also recorded in the area between Verkhniotoretske and Troitske villages, near Novoselivka and further north (towards Novhorodske and Shumy villages).
"The terrorists also committed attacks on the ATO forces' positions near Svitlodarsk, Luhanske, Popasna, Zolote and Krymske under cover of the dense foliage while their subversive and reconnaissance groups were carrying out attempts to infiltrate into the government-controlled territory.
"Numerous enemy attacks from small arms were recorded in the vicinity of Shyrokyne, Pavlopil, and Hranitne villages," the statement reads.
