 Militants committed over 40 attacks on Ukrainian troops’ positions. Engagement with terrorists’ subversive group took place near Syze, - ATO press center

The situation at the Donetsk and Luhansk directions remains tense. The Russian-terrorist forces committed more than 40 attacks on positions of the Ukrainian military in the Donbas Thursday, July 23.

Censor.NET informs citing situation report by the ATO press center.

The statement reads: "The Russian-terrorist forces carried out more than 40 attacks on our positions July 23.

"The positions near the villages of Rozsadky, Lozove, Opytne, Pershe Travnia, and Avdiivka were shelled from 120-mm mortars. Squads of the Ukrainian servicemen were ambushed by a subversive and reconnaissance group near the village of Syze at 8.30 a.m. The militants assaulted Ukrainians from RPGs and small arms. Our military engaged and gave a fitting rebuff to the enemy.

"At the same time, positions of the Ukrainian troops near the towns and villages of Marinka and Opytne adjacent to Donetsk were heavily fired at from 82-mm mortars and small arms.

"Besides, the gangs were attacking the ATO forces positions near the villages of Pisky, Triokhizbenka, Krasnohorivka, Stanytsia Luhanska, and near the Donetsk airport," the statement reads
