 Terrorists shelled ATO positions 86 times yesterday; clash occurred near Opytne, - HQ

Yesterday, July 22, pro-Russian gangs shelled the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) positions 86 times and fired at civilian residential areas twice.

This is reported by Censor.NET citing the ATO press center on Facebook.

According to the headquarters, more than 50 cases of shelling were conducted by mercenaries after 6 p.m. till midnight: "At 9:15 p.m., terrorists started to shell Novhorodske village from Horlivka direction. Residential areas had been fired at for 40 minutes from 122-mm artillery. Also, 122-mm howitzers and 120-mm mortars, which are banned by the Minsk accords, were used to shell ATO positions near Avdiivka, Novhorodske, Pisky, Leninske, Opytne," the message reads.

They also informed that at around 10 p.m., a sabotage and reconnaissance group of up to 10 militants attempted to infiltrate into one of the ATO forces' positions near Opytne. Ukrainian soldiers repulsed the attack.

The HQ said that as of 6 a.m. July 23, the Kremlin mercenaries shelled the ATO forces positions near Rozsadky and Lozove with 120-mm mortars.

Near Marinka, which is a suburb of Donetsk city, illegal armed gangs used small arms and mortars to fire at the Ukrainian forces' positions for more than 10 times during the night.

"Ukrainian soldiers continue to dominate defensive objectives and are ready to relevantly repulse the enemy at any time," the HQ added.
